The Office of Commissioner Precious Brady-Davis is now accepting applications for a Community Outreach & Public Relations Intern with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD).

 

This is a paid internship that offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public service while working on communications, community engagement, media relations, research, policy, and special events. It's an excellent opportunity for students interested in government, nonprofit leadership, public affairs, or strategic communications.

 

Position Highlights

  • Pay: $18/hour
  • Location: MWRD Main Office, Chicago
  • Schedule: Flexible during the academic year (IN PERSON IS A MUST)

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and continuing enrollment during the 2026–2027 academic year.
  • Be pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science, public policy, law, marketing, sociology, liberal arts, or a related field.
  • Be a resident within MWRD boundaries (students may attend school outside the district).
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
